Consultation

Consultation services can be helpful for people when they are interested in having a brief discussion with Dr. Kincade to ask general questions, share ideas, brainstorm solutions or be given some basic education about a particular topic.

Consultation

Examples of types of consultations services offered include, but are not limited to, the following:
PARENTING COACHING

As a parent of two children, Dr. Kincade recognizes the many challenges that can arise along our parenting journey. Whether it’s bedtime struggles, temper tantrums or more serious oppositional or defiant types of behaviour, it can sometimes help to get a new perspective on a challenging problem. Dr. Kincade always recognizes that you, as the parent, are the expert when it comes to your child. She works with you, discussing your particular concerns along with her observations as well as psychological and behavioural principles to help you to develop new strategies in dealing with challenging behaviours. She can also offer suggestions on ways to improve your relationships with your children as they go through different stages of development.

EDUCATIONAL CONSULTATION

She is also happy to consult with parents and teachers to help provide recommendations and in-depth educational interventions and strategies for children who are struggling with learning or attention difficulties. More Information

PARENTS AND TEENS

Adolescence can be a tough time for many teenagers and their families. With so many developmental, social, physical and cognitive changes happening, it can be a confusing and stressful time for teens as well as for their parents. Sometimes, basic information about the developmental changes that are taking place, such as the major brain development that occurs in the tween, teenage, and young adult years, can illuminate some of the reasons behind certain behaviour changes. Dr. Kincade has found success in talking with teens in a way that allows them to feel comfortable to be able to “open up” and consider different behaviour choices.

DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT PLANNING

Dr. Kincade is pleased to offer consultation services to fellow health professionals, such as family physicians, pediatricians, neurologists, psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers to assist in differential diagnosis of various disorders and to assist in the development and implementation of appropriate treatment plans.
