Social / Emotional / Behavioural Assessments

Individuals are complex and there are often underlying reasons for emotional and behavioural challenges or difficulties in interpersonal relationships. For a variety of reasons, people may require a specific, formalized assessment of these types of challenges to determine whether they meet criteria for a particular diagnosis.

Dr. Kincade offers individualized assessments for children, teenagers and adults who may be struggling in some of the following areas:

  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Mood Disorders
  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
  • Developmental Delays

These types of assessments typically involve the following components:

Clinical interviews (usually with the client and other collateral sources, such as family members, teachers or other important caregivers)

  • Questionnaire completion
  • Behavioural Observations
  • Review of relevant background academic and/or medical records

Depending on the person’s particular needs, they may or may not require a formalized, written assessment report. If this is required, a formal report will be provided. In all cases, the client will be invited to return for a feedback session in which the clinical impressions and any suggestions or recommendations will be discussed.
